Sometime in the late 80's, Mr. Wayne Jernigan founded an after school and weekend program called Outreach for Youth. His purpose was to have a safe place for the youth to learn the skills neccesary to play basketball. The program also offered other activities including Cup Stacking and Cheerleading. Due to Wayne's continuing dedication to the children of Lake City, Florida, he would see some of the members of his girls basketball team go on to play division 1 basketball at the collegiate level. This was the dream , not only to instill a passion for the game, but to also see them educated.
